Exclusively designed by Ilias Lalaounis, a fourth generation Greek jeweler, for the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA), this Silk Cord and Pendant is part of a collection created on the occasion of the major MIA exhibition, “Gifts of the Sultan: The Arts of Giving at the Islamic Courts”, which explored Islamic Art through the universal act of gift giving. The gold pendant is based on a carnation pattern embroidered on a 16th-17th century Ottoman velvet saddlecloth that was woven with silver and gold-wrapped thread.
18K Gold. Cord: 17 inches long. Pendant: 1 inch. Made in Greece.
